Role Overview
The EYFS Leader at Citizens School Dubai will play a vital role in shaping and delivering an outstanding Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that aligns with the British EYFS framework and KHDA standards. The position requires a dynamic leader with a passion for early childhood education, ensuring an inquiry-based and play-centered approach that fosters curiosity, creativity, and holistic development among young learners.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development and Alignment:
- Lead the design and implementation of the EYFS curriculum, ensuring alignment with the UK EYFS framework and KHDA expectations.
- Work closely with FS1 and FS2 teaching teams to develop engaging, child-centered learning experiences.
- Ensure the curriculum promotes inclusivity, well-being, and readiness for Key Stage 1.
Implementation and Oversight:
- Collaborate with the Senior Leader for Quality Assurance of Teaching and Learning to maintain consistency and progression.
- Support FS1 and FS2 teachers in lesson planning, classroom management, and differentiated instruction.
- Provide guidance on inquiry-based and play-based learning strategies that enhance engagement.
Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Embed robust assessment practices, tracking children’s progress through observations and formative assessments.
- Use assessment data to inform teaching strategies and interventions.
- Maintain high-quality learning journals and parent reports through Toddle or other communication platforms.
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct learning walks, lesson observations, and professional development sessions.
- Provide feedback to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and contribute to whole-school strategic planning.
- Ensure EYFS provision meets KHDA inspection framework standards.
Parental and Community Engagement:
- Foster strong partnerships with parents through transparent communication and engagement activities.
- Organize parent workshops, open days, and interactive learning sessions.
- Promote Citizens School’s vision of personalized and innovative learning through community initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an EYFS teaching or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of the UK EYFS curriculum and KHDA requirements.
- Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and quality assurance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
