The position of Facilities Apprentice offers an excellent opportunity to learn and develop skills in site and facilities management while working alongside an experienced site manager. The role supports the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the school premises and grounds, creating a welcoming environment for staff, pupils, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Under supervision and guidance, you will:
Premises and Grounds Maintenance:
- Assist in maintaining and improving the school premises and grounds.
- Learn to identify areas requiring attention and contribute to their upkeep.
Health and Safety:
- Support the implementation of health and safety measures to ensure a safe environment.
- Assist with monitoring contractor work and reporting any concerns to the site manager.
Team Collaboration:
- Work as part of the site management team to help prepare the school for activities and events.
- Learn how to manage building access and security for school operations.
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Develop practical DIY and maintenance skills under guidance.
- Help make minor repairs and report any damage or disrepair appropriately.
About You
As a Facilities Apprentice, you will demonstrate:
- A willingness to learn practical maintenance and DIY skills.
- An interest in Health & Safety and Fire Safety practices.
- An eagerness to develop problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
- A positive attitude and commitment to contributing to a safe and welcoming environment.
