We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and proactive Facilities Manager to play a key role in the management and development of the school premises and ensure they are safe, well maintained and meet the needs of the school.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining the school asset management plan and maintenance / improvement programme, maintaining a list of approved contractors and overseeing work, arranging regular inspections, statutory compliance checks and risk assessments and maintaining the relevant records.
You will be responsible for the supervision of the Maintenance Officer and in-house Cleaning staff to ensure the school is clean, secure and welcoming at all times. You will be a designated keyholder and attend to callouts if required. You should be capable of assisting the Maintenance Officer in undertaking minor repairs and maintenance work if the need arises.
The successful candidate will have relevant, recent experience of working in a maintenance and security environment. You should hold a qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant field. You will have excellent organisational and budget management skills, the ability to work under pressure to meet targets, be capable of leading and motivating a team and have the enthusiasm, willingness and flexibility to change and adapt to meet the needs of the school.

Golborne High School, a co-educational secondary school of around 1,200 pupils, is located near to Wigan, Greater Manchester. Providing places for pupils aged 11-16, Golborne High is a foundation cooperative trust school, forming a key part of the GoalCo Trust, a network of schools and colleges situated in and around Wigan.
The GoalCo cooperative was established in 2010, but the secondary school itself first opened its doors in 1954.
