Finance Manager

RAK Academy is seeking a dynamic and committed Facilities Manager to join us for the Academic Year 2022-2023. This is an exciting role which will be directly reporting to the Head of Operations.

Job Purpose:

Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial health by managing accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance with international accounting standards. 

This role ensures accurate and timely financial data, implements robust financial controls, and supports strategic decision-making by providing insights into financial performance. The Finance Manager will drive operational efficiency, maintain accountability, and safeguard the company’s assets through effective management of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain best-in-class accounting policies and procedures to drive operational excellence and compliance.

• Act as the custodian of budgets, MIS reporting, and cash flow management to ensure financial stability and performance monitoring.

• Maintain correct, accurate, and validated accounting records and reports.

• Oversee timely and accurate periodic closing of accounts and deliver precise financial reporting.

• Ensure timely completion of audits, tax filings and adherence to all regulatory requirements.

• Adhere to the Finance & Accounting Department’s strategy, business plan and budget in accordance with the RAKA’s strategic intent and objectives

• Contribute to the design and implementation of the Finance & Accounting Department’s policies and procedures to ensure efficient operational practices and enhance control standards within the accounting function.

• Communicate and monitor the compliance of the Finance and Accounting Department to the approved policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.

• Establishing clear parameters for the P2P process is essential to facilitating better collaboration between procurement and finance.

• Responsible for the review of the monthly payroll, coordinating the process with the Payroll Team to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing

• Responsible for the preparation and distribution of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports and financial statements, and ensures compliance with International Accounting Standards

• Manage the consolidation and reporting of financial statements across multiple business units.

• Control over accounts payable and accounts receivable and ensure that all activities are completed in a timely manner.

• Monitors the receipt of fixed assets and the issuance of acceptance certificates after conducting periodical FA counts

The candidate must have:

·        Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or other equivalent degree.

·        CA / ACCA with post qualification of 3+ years (preferred)

·        3+ years’ experience as Finance Manager (preferred).  7+ years’ experience in different functions of accounting.
