Applicants need to be willing and able to participate in and support the religious dimension of St Agnes’ Parish Schools.
Criteria
Applicants should:
- have a commitment to the practice of the Catholic faith and appropriate Religious Education qualifications;
- have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission of the school;
- have a commitment to excellence as a classroom teacher;
- have a commitment to professional growth in accordance with the National Professional Standards for Teachers;
- be willing to contribute positively as a committed member of a Professional Learning Community who demonstrates highly effective teaching skills; classroom management and facilitating rich learning through the use of contemporary technologies;
- be willing to teach any year level from K-6.

St Joseph’s Primary School is a mainstream independent Catholic school in Port Macquarie, New South Wales.
The school was founded by the Sisters of St Joseph’s – the order founded by Australia’s first saint, Mary MacKillop or Saint Mary of the Cross. The school celebrated its centenary year in 2013.

The school has modern learning spaces and is extensively resourced with laptops, tablets and smartboards. Musical facilities allow students to participate in band tutorials, as well as sing in the school choir. The extensive library provides a number of programs including Early Bird Reading, Homework Help and The Premiers Reading Challenge. There are also a chess club, card club, sports, ICT and drama programs available.
Curriculum
The Religious Education Curriculum is supported by the resource student text To Know, Worship and Love, which was first produced in the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
The school offers an "enrichment programme" for those students who require an extension in a particular subject and an "additional needs support programme" for those that need extra support in their learning.
