Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a General Catering Assistant to work within a team of 30 staff in the catering department. Working in a modern well-equipped environment this position assists the delivery of lunches to over 1400 people on a daily basis during term time and regular school functions throughout the term.

Key Responsibilities

  • Using dishwashers, cleaning, restocking of cutlery and crockery.
  • Assisting with function work (setting up, serving and clearing).
  • Basic food preparation.
  • Serving pupils.

Person Specification

  • The ability to work within a team in a fast-paced, pressurised kitchen environment whilst maintaining high standards.
  • Good communication skills with an approachable manner - contact with pupils and staff is on a daily basis and maintaining open communication is essential.
  • Experience of catering is desirable, but full training can be provided.
  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene would be an advantage, but full training can be offered.
