Role summary


As our Group Data and Information Services Manager, you'll help shape a critical part of EiM's future, crafting and implementing an innovative roadmap for our applications and data systems, building on the strong foundation developed in our first phase of transformation. This role goes beyond traditional IT – it's your chance to position our organization at the forefront of what’s possible with data and information systems in education.


Key areas of responsibility


  • Architect the future of the applications and data layers of our Group’s tech stack, working closely with our Chief Innovation Officer.
  • Develop and communicate a compelling vision and roadmap to stakeholders at all levels
  • Lead and grow a team of talented systems managers and data analysts
  • Cultivate a data-wise culture at all levels of the organisation
  • Lead the implementation of digital transformation initiatives across our global network of schools
  • Drive the development and optimization of our application and data layers
  • Support the ongoing delivery and continuous development of a range of academic and business intelligence reports and analytics initiatives, drawing on the latest approaches and technologies
  • Champion a data-driven culture that empowers educators, enhances student outcomes and business support functions at school and Group levels.
  • Drive our existing data governance structures to the next level of maturity and partner with our cybersecurity team to ensure safe, secure and ethical handling of data
  • Lead remote teams and allocate resources effectively across multiple schools/business units
  • Ensure that service levels are of the highest standards
  • Seek out and oversee vendor and partner relationships to enhance Group objectives
  • Craft and manage a budget suitable for delivering the roadmap
  • Drive automation and efficiency leveraging RPA/DPA approaches
  • Ensure compliance with multi-regional data protection regulations
  • Design and deliver training to stakeholders in order to maximise the value of the tools and data available to them


Key Skills and Experience


A proven tech leader with a passion for education and a talent for turning complex systems and data into first-class user experiences and actionable insights. You will excel in both strategic planning and possess the necessary energy and rigor for hands-on implementation, thriving in diverse, international environments.

  • Proven experience in IT leadership roles, preferably in education or large, multi-unit organizations
  • Strong background in data governance and cybersecurity
  • Proficiency in both educational and enterprise business software, iSAMS in particular, would be an advantage.
  • Expert knowledge of database and integration technologies
  • Exposure to fundamentals of API architecture, including its components, common types, and key practices for building efficient and secure APIs.
  • Experience with cloud computing and data platforms like Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric desirable
  • Familiarity with K-13 curriculum and assessment frameworks like IB Diploma, IGCSE, A Level an advantage
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and specifically Power Automate
  • Familiarity with current data protection standards and practices
  • Project management expertise, including change management and resource allocation across multiple parallel workstreams under pressure
  • Budget management and vendor negotiation skills
  • Ability to lead a diverse and remote team effectively
