MPS/UPS/Leadership (Outer London)

Full Time

January 2025

Orchardside School is a purpose built, successful and high-achieving

Pupil Referral Unit in the London Borough of Enfield. We provide education for KS3 & KS4 students on a long- and short-term basis.

We want to appoint an innovative, talented and committed Head of Maths to join our successful staff body.

Our students need staff with excellent subject knowledge and a preference for working with hard to reach, vulnerable children. We need staff who will care about students’ progress, and teachers who are able to support them with their personal development and wellbeing through education.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment

to the Orchardside vision and values.

We are looking for someone who is an excellent secondary phase Maths teacher.

  • Has excellent pastoral skills and empathy particularly in developing effective working relationships with students.
  • Has a belief in our Trauma Informed approach.
  • Can re-motivate and enthuse students who have had a negative experience with education.
  • Is resilient with a sense of humour and sees everyday as a fresh start.
  • Is a team player who is keen to make a real difference in students’ lives.

If this sounds like the job for you, we’d love to hear from you. Don’t hesitate to contact us for a visit or an informal discussion over the phone.

Application forms can be obtained from Judith Hunt, School Business Manager on 0208 353 4270 or judith.hunt@orchardside.school

Closing date for applications: Friday 18th October 2024.

Interviews: Tuesday 22nd October, 2024.

Orchardside School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful candidates will be required to undergo safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS

disclosure and Barred List Checks.
