Al Rabeeh Academy seeks an experienced and dynamic Head of Secondary to lead our thriving secondary school.

Al Rabeeh Academy is a beautiful, purpose-built school that opened in August 2017 and is part of a growing network of schools. The Al Rabeeh name has been synonymous throughout Abu Dhabi for high-quality education and pastoral care since 1979. As a member of British Schools in the Middle East (BSME), we offer excellent opportunities for inter-school competitions, tournaments, and CPD.

We are a bilingual private school delivering the English National Curriculum alongside Arabic from FS1 to Year 13. The successful candidate will be an ambitious, forward-thinking leader with the passion, energy, and commitment to drive excellence in teaching and learning within our Secondary School

The Role

The Head of the Secondary will be responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of the Secondary School, ensuring outstanding academic achievement, pastoral care, and enrichment opportunities. The ideal candidate will be an inspirational leader, able to foster a collaborative and innovative environment for both students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Secondary School.

·       Lead and manage the Secondary team to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.

·       Foster a culture of high expectations, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.

·       Monitor and track student attainment and progress using assessment data.

·       Drive curriculum development in line with best practices and the needs of our students.

·       Ensure high levels of pastoral care, student well-being, and safeguarding.

·       Build strong relationships with parents, staff, and the wider school community.

·       Promote innovation, digital learning, and 21st-century learning skills.

Essential Requirements:

·       A proven track record of successful senior leadership within a UK curriculum school.

·       A degree and a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).

·       Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a leadership role within a National Curriculum of England school, and 3 years of teaching.

·       A deep understanding of curriculum development, assessment, and pastoral care.

·       Experience in teaching EAL students and differentiating learning accordingly.

·       An understanding of UAE culture and sensitivity to the deeply embedded, rich traditions of the region.

·       Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

·       Confidence in using data-driven strategies to raise student attainment.

·       A commitment to extra-curricular activities and whole-school initiatives.

Desirable:

·       Experience in teaching A-Levels.

·       Prior experience in the Middle East and a strong understanding of bilingual education.
