Due to internal promotions we are seeking a talented and inspirational Head of Year, who is dedicated to the highest standards of support for student welfare, and in mentoring an enthusiastic and high performing team. We have been on an exciting journey and you will play a significant role in shaping the academic, personal, social, emotional and spiritual development of students so they flourish at every stage of their lives.

As Head of Year you will:

·        Be knowledgeable in strategies to support students with challenging behaviours.

·        Be able to inspire, influence, challenge and motivate others, leading by example.

·        Be able to motivate and inspire students to achieve their full potential.

·        Have the belief that all children can make outstanding progress.

·        Be able to confidently meet with parents to resolve issues both successfully and in line with academy policies.

About The Bishop of Winchester Academy

The Bishop of Winchester Academy, based in Bournemouth, Dorset, is a Church of England secondary school that prides itself on its curriculum, governance and outstanding student behaviour. Students aged 11-18 experience teaching in new state-of-the-art buildings and have first-class resources at their fingertips. The school operates in an area where there are schools that select for entry on grounds of ability.

The mixed secondary school was opened in September 2010 as a sponsor-led academy. In September 2014, the Bishop of Winchester Academy extended its educational opportunities by opening its own sixth form.
