Job overview

We are looking for a Healthcare Coordinator. This is an exciting opportunity to join GLT / Brakenhale School and become an integral member of the team. We would like our Healthcare Coordinator to coordinate and implement healthcare plans for all students with medical needs, and to be prepared for all scenarios that would demonstrate a strong candidate to succeed in resolving.

Main responsibilities:

  • Being responsible for ensuring the safe handling of all instances that arise in school for students, staff and visitors requiring first aid assistance
  • Responsibility for the provision of First Aid equipment throughout the School; monitoring of the use and reliability of this equipment
  • Responsibility for checking of AEDs and providing up-to-date refresher courses
  • Responsibility for storing, recording and issuing student medication
  • Liaising with the School Immunisation team with regards to immunisations and medicals etc, including distributing, receiving reminders and consent forms

 

You will need:

  • A recognised first aid at work qualification, including additional training in chronic health conditions e.g. diabetes, epilepsy, asthma, anaphylaxis, defibrillators etc
  • Educated to at least grade C/ 4 standard (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
  • Willingness to undertake induction and ongoing training
  • Working knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and wellbeing issues in relation to young people
  • Previous experience of working in a role involving first aid delivery and training
  • Practical experience of word processing, excel, e-mail and other office electronic applications
  • Ability to produce statistical data in a spreadsheet format
  • Management of others/strategic planning
