Job overview

Higher Level Teaching Assistants play a crucial role in ensuring students with additional educational needs are supported across the school curriculum. You will work closely with the SENDCO, class teachers, external agencies and parents/carers to provide a high quality personalised and inclusive education experience.

One of the vacancies is specific to the implementation and execution of the Assess-Plan-Do-Review process (APDR) which is fundamental to the EHCP process. You will be expected to fully understand the APDR process and how to implement interventions, record and cost provision, and support with the preparation of the EHCP application documentation.  


The details of the post are:

  • Contract status: Permanent
  • Weeks per year: Term Time Only (which is 39 weeks a year)
  • Days per week: Monday to Friday
  • Hours per week: 35
  • Grade: Scale SO1
  • Actual salary: £32,555 to £34,115 (depending on experience, but will increase once the NJC pay deal is agreed for 2024-25 financial year)

Hampstead School is Camden’s largest maintained comprehensive School, educating 1330 students (including 300 in our stand-alone Sixth Form).
