ROLE SUMMARY:
St Louis High School is seeking to appoint a talented, well-qualified, and inspirational Teacher of History to join our High School, situated in the heart of Milan. The role involves teaching Cambridge IGCSE History, and History at IB Diploma level. Both courses focus heavily on 20th Century international history. The role may also involve some teaching of Global Perspectives, at IGCSE level. Experience of teaching this course is advantageous but not essential. Candidates should be well-qualified educators with significant experience in teaching History, committed to high standards, able to demonstrate an innovative and imaginative approach to teaching and learning, display a willingness to be involved in all aspects of departmental development and be a dedicated team player who strives for excellence and leads by example. Being able to inspire children to achieve their potential and enjoy the study of History is of paramount importance. An understanding of how to develop students whose first language is not English will be important. This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of a successful and growing teaching team.

THE DEPARTMENT:
The Humanities Department is dynamic, collaborative and supportive and includes History, Geography, and Global Perspectives all following the Cambridge IGCSE courses. At IB we offer an even broader range of subjects; History, Geography, Global Politics, Psychology and Philosophy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Hold an EU passport / have the right to live & work in Italy
- Appropriate degree and teaching certification
- Outstanding classroom results and experience with external exam preparation
- Minimum of two years of teaching experience
- Experience of working with the IB curriculum
- A passion for education and working with students
- A willingness to participate in the development of the High School
- A desire to contribute and foster a positive IB learning community
- Ability to work as a team member within a department and in an interdisciplinary team
- Commitment to the IB standards and practices and to the IB Learner Profile
- Superior communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
PREFERRED:
- Experience in an international or multicultural school
- Experience of working with students who have English as an Additional Language
