Values and vision

Port Moresby International School wants all students to realise their full intellectual, social, artistic, physical and creative potential in a caring and welcoming learning environment. The secondary school wants to inspire pupils to develop as positive members of society who will go on to contribute their unique skills and talents positively to the local, wider and global community. The school encourages students to take responsibility for their actions and learning and to have a caring and respectful attitude towards others. Diversity is celebrated at the secondary school, while discrimination is not tolerated on any levels. It is important that all children are fully prepared for further education and employment and the school hopes to guide them so that they are emotionally and physically ready for the next stage of their life. A wide range of clubs and societies are available for all students to get involved in and develop their skills, discover new interests and meet new friends outside of the classroom. These range from knitting club to extra maths help. Each year the school puts on a musical and its UN Concert is regularly attended by 3000 people each year. The school participates in many sports both in the local competitions and against other schools. The main sports are Rugby Union, Netball & Soccer although others are played.
