Candidate profile
Harrow International School pupils are placed in one of four Houses that cater for their pastoral needs. The Housemaster is expected to manage a small team of tutors who assist with the day-to-day pastoral duties within the school.
Positions are available for Housemasters within both the Prep and Senior Schools. The teacher will need to fill one of the existing job vacancies as reasonably directed, principally within the Prep or Senior sections of the school.
The successful candidates will support either the Head of Prep School or the Head Master in the pastoral management and leadership of Harrow International School, Shanghai. We are looking for a candidate who would relish the challenge of developing the pastoral systems and ethos of our school.
All applicants should clearly state in their supporting statement a preference for Prep or Senior School as well as identifying their main subject.
Essential
Significant pastoral experience with the relevant age range.
Complementary subject offered.
Positive and proactive approach to extra curricular work. Strong team player. Highly adaptable.
Desirable
Evidence of having successfully taken on a leadership role as a Housemaster, Assistant Housemaster or equivalent. Experience working in an independent school setting. Experience working in an international school.

Harrow School Shanghai is a co-educational day school for students aged from 18 months to 18 years. The teaching is based upon the EYFS Framework and the English National Curriculum, culminating in IGCSEs for Years 10 and 11 and A levels within the Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13). It is envisaged that the School will eventually grow to a roll of approximately 950.
