About Bow School
Bow is a thriving secondary school in Tower Hamlets, which has undergone a transformational journey into a highly Ofsted rated, co-educational, dynamic learning environment that provides students a rich and broad curriculum in a modern, state-of-the-art building.
This is a time of great optimism at Bow. To deliver on our vision of outstanding outcomes for all we have embedded innovative and effective teaching across the curriculum, and expanded learning opportunities beyond the classroom through a range of partners. We harness their energy, skills and experience to open doors to the wider world.
Our success is founded on the principle of demanding more; more from ourselves, more from students and staff, and more from parents and partners. By doing this we challenge everyone within our community to achieve more than they thought possible. This allows students to aspire for greatness, whether that be taking up places at top universities, securing careers with leading employers or establishing their own enterprises.
Our role is not to dictate students’ destinations, but to provide them with the tools they need to realise their dreams. I firmly believe our culture facilitates this by allowing everyone to learn from mistakes, explore new opportunities and ignite passions they didn’t realise they had.
We are committed to achieving this through our key values:
- Adaptability
- Respect
- Curiosity
- Determination
These values define our expectations of everyone at the school. We believe by living and breathing them our students will be prepared for the rigours of modern society and that staff will be enabled to offer the best to the community we serve.
Bow is a life-changing school, where students can kickstart successful lives. I strongly encourage everyone already associated with the school to be an active member of our community, and those seeking a secondary school for their child to come and visit us.
Danny Lye, Headteacher
