This is an internal vacancy, open to existing staff from Camberwell Park and Prospere Learning Trust only.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Head of School to lead the fantastic team at Camberwell Park Specialist Support School in Moston, Manchester. 

This is a leadership post, with the individual salary range of L23 – L29.

Please note that academisation of Camberwell Park Specialist Support School is pending. This is a sponsored academisation process with Prospere Learning Trust as the associated Multi Academy Trust (MAT). Reference to the Executive Headteacher, Trustees etc. refer to representatives of Prospere Learning Trust. It is anticipated that Camberwell Park Specialist Support School will transfer into the Trust on 1 April 2025. Employment of all school staff (including the person appointed to this post) will also transfer into the Trust on this date.

Key relationships

The Head of School will work with the Executive Leadership Team, Trust Board and Directors of the Prospere Learning Trust, the Interim Education Board, the Staff, the LA, the DfE and wider stakeholders to develop and implement the wider direction and strategy for the school. 

 

Main purpose of the job:

To undertake, in line with the National Standards of Excellence for Headteachers, the professional duties of a Headteacher as set out in the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and to act in accordance with other legislation affecting the conduct of the school.

The purpose of the role will be to provide outstanding leadership to realise the vision and values of the school, ensuring that excellence and high standards are attained across all areas of the school, and providing a safe, healthy and inclusive learning environment.

With Trustees, Governors and the Executive Headteacher, provide the leadership and management which enables the school to give every student high quality education and which promotes the highest possible standards of achievement and well-being.

The Head of School will build system-wide leadership capacity at all levels through actively developing strategic leadership, staffing structures and roles and responsibilities

Secure the long-term success of the school by maximising potential through the skills and resources within the wider Academy Trust.

Teacher Training

The Trust offers outstanding primary and secondary routes into teaching with both mainstream and special schools.

Primary with SEND

Our Primary Education: Inclusion with SEND programme allows you the opportunity to train to teach in both mainstream and specialist settings. We work in partnership with the University of Cumbria and, upon successful completion, candidates are awarded a PGCE with qualified teacher status.

Secondary

We have four mainstream secondary schools dedicated to training teachers through the School Direct route. This is a school-led teacher training programme where you are attached to a Prospere Trust school from the very first day of your training. We work with the Manchester Teaching School Alliance and Manchester Metropolitan University to deliver this course.

Central Services

We ensure that our schools receive continuous consistent operational support through our recently centralised service teams. The Central MAT Team includes HR, Finance, Estates, IT and Catering. This multi-functional, dedicated and continually developing team works tirelessly to support the efficient and effective running of our schools, enabling staff at school level to focus on delivering exceptional education to all children and young people.

Network Groups

The Prospere Learning Trust believes in working collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes and life chances for students. There are several network groups comprising staff from all Trust schools focusing on key areas from curriculum and literacy to wellbeing and community of belonging.
