About the role

In your new role of IT change and Release Manager, you will be responsible for the ownership and efficient operation of change management processes and activities, ensuring they align with governance controls. You will integrate Lean and Agile methodologies into change management for continuous improvement. The role includes guaranteeing compliance of all technical changes and projects within the development and production environments with established change management policies, as well as analysing change requests to confirm that valuable lessons are learned and failure rates are reduced.

As the chair of the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and emergency Change Advisory Board (eCAB), you will oversee meetings, ensure the presence of necessary staff, and make decisions on the approval or rejection of changes. Overseeing the entire lifecycle of change requests, promoting understanding of the change management process, and formulating a plan for ongoing service enhancement.

Collaboration with global and regional teams is key to develop and maintain a unified set of change management policies and procedures that are well-managed and governed. This role also involves leading a global change forum to ensure adherence to change policies and to foster improvements.

The ideal candidate will exhibit a robust understanding of change management, with a proven track record of leading and inspiring teams towards shared objectives. They will excel in a dynamic business setting that values progressive change and adaptable work methods.

This is a Hybrid Role with up to 2 days a week on site.

Who we are looking for:

You will excel in IT life-cycle management and release management. Your toolkit includes proficiency with ITSM tools like ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or Freshservice. Your qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an IT-related subject, an ITIL 4 Intermediate qualification, and practical experience in ITIL processes—especially change management. You thrive in agile environments, build strong relationships with stakeholders (including senior management), prioritise effectively, and consistently deliver high-quality work. At Cognita, we know every student is unique. We nurture their distinct personalities and strengths. We support them academically, socially, and emotionally, wherever they are in the world, wherever they’re starting from.

And each and every one of our schools is unique too. We protect what’s special about them, while offering them rich knowledge, opportunities, and best practices. And they get to be part of something bigger. We open their classrooms to the collective wisdom of over 100 schools in 16 countries, ensuring every child gets an education that’s, quite literally, world class.

It’s an individual approach that empowers every school, teacher and student to focus on what they do best. And thrive.

We want to help you go further. If you work with us, you’ll be joining a community of 18,000 teachers and staff in over 100 schools worldwide. And we have offices in the UK, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.

Our exchange programmes give you the chance to see other parts of the world. And learn to be strong leaders with regional leadership events and bespoke UCL leadership programmes. There’s something for everyone.

We want teachers who love what they do and bring that passion into the classroom. And we want leaders who can take us forward. That’s why we invest in our people with benefits and opportunities for professional development. We get passionate people and you get vibrant and rewarding careers.
