Humberston Academy is now recruiting for an IT Field Technician.

We are looking for someone who is ready to join a warm, welcoming team at Humberston Academy in Grimsby. You will work alongside the team at Humberston Academy but also have the opportunity to access the wealth of support from the central IT & Data Team, we want someone to join us who will be vocal, challenge our thinking and be ready to fast track a career in IT Support with us.

An IT Field Technician at the David Ross Education Trust is someone who can learn whichever part of the IT Architecture and systems that make up delivering a world class IT service to our staff and students. Our IT Field Technicians are the fundamental first port of call for delivering our ambitious IT Strategy.

You will be based at Humberston Academy and be the foundation of IT Support in the Secondary Academy. You will also be entrusted to create a schedule of rigorous, friendly, customer focused support to a set of our local Primary Academies which will contribute to a busy, well planned work environment. We want someone who is keen and willing to travel around our local Primary Academies with every visit aimed at making an impact to ensure IT is well managed and contributes to outstanding children’s outcomes.

About the role

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated, customer focused and can work to a high level of accuracy to contribute to further enhancing the values and culture at our academies.

This position is a permanent contract, working full time (37 hours per week, working days Monday – Friday).

However, alternate working patterns such as term-time only working may be considered for the right candidate.

Humberston Academy is an oversubscribed ‘outstanding’ academy located in an affluent area of North East Lincolnshire. As well as being an Ofsted graded outstanding academy, Humberston Academy achieved ‘World Class Schools’ status in December 2019 and re-accredited in 2022. Humberston Academy continues to deliver incredible opportunities to young people with a specific focus on STEM enrichment and favourable links to the apprenticeships industry as well as traditional route towards higher education.

Humberston Academy has also been appointed as the Teaching School Hub for the local region which will allow all colleagues to access leading edge career professional development in order to enhance the standard of teaching as well as the opportunity to deliver CPD to colleagues locally in our profession.
