This is an exciting opportunity for a Juniors STEAM Teacher to further their career at an innovative British curriculum co-educational international boarding school.
Job Overview:
The STEAM Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and innovative lessons in Science,
Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) to students, fostering a creative and
collaborative learning environment. The role involves integrating interdisciplinary approaches to
inspire students and develop their problem-solving and critical-thinking skills in line with the the
Hong Kong primary curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a dynamic STEAM curriculum that meets the standards of the Hong
Kong Primary Curriculum.
- Create lesson plans that integrate science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics
concepts.
- Use project-based learning and hands-on activities to enhance student engagement and
understanding.
- Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical,
social, and emotional development of students.
- Manage classroom behaviour in a respectful and constructive manner.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students during all classroom activities.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
- Integrate technology and digital tools to support and enhance learning experiences.
- Encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through innovative teaching
practices.
- Develop and implement formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and school-wide STEAM
initiatives.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends
and best practices in STEAM education.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative school culture.
- Manage classroom resources, including materials and equipment, effectively and responsibly.
- Identify and request necessary resources to support STEAM teaching and learning.
- Ensure proper maintenance and safety of STEAM equipment and supplies.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and school
activities.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and conferences.
- Foster relationships with the wider school community to support STEAM education initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, or a
related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching within the Hong Kong Curriculum.
- Strong understanding of STEAM concepts and interdisciplinary teaching approaches.
- Proficiency in using technology and digital tools in the classroom.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:
- Full-time position with standard school hours.

We welcome applicants with experience of working within boarding schools or applicants with a keen interest to participate, live and work within a boarding community. We appreciate that all applicants may not have such experience at present but we welcome applicants with the right approach to a unique part of the MIS experience.
The initial contract will be for a period of three years.
