At Rainbow International School Uganda (RISU) we are looking for Key Stage 1 and 2 Teachers. In the role, you would work with a small and dedicated team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants to instil the love of learning in our 6 to 11 year olds. We are looking for someone passionate, and fun who loves a challenge and adventure and wants to share their love of learning with our amazing children and Teachers.
The role:
RISU’s Key Stages 1 and 2 are housed in well-resourced classrooms, with small class sizes and Teaching Assistants in each class for Lower Primary and shared for Upper Primary. We follow the English national curriculum, taught through White Rose Maths, Talk for Write, Drawing Club alongside the International Primary Curriculum. We are a busy school with lots of events, enrichments, and trips throughout the year, our children are keen learners and our parents are supportive.
RISU has an experienced senior leadership team with UK and international leadership experience.
The Post:
As a member of the RISU’s teaching team, the post holder will be responsible for teaching a class in either Key Stage 1 or 2. They will participate in the planning and running of enrichment/after school activities throughout the year, with a firm focus always on the learning happening in the classroom. Our children love teachers who are excited about learning, funny, and who will listen to them. They also appreciate a teacher who is fair in their decisions.
We are looking for outstanding classroom practitioners within Key Stages 1 and 2, looking for an adventure in the tropics. You will be highly driven and motivated, have an eye for detail, and can work flexibly and creatively.
- The successful candidate should have:
- - The motivation to achieve the very best for the children in our care and be relentless in the pursuit of excellence
- - Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills as well as the ability to inspire and challenge colleagues
- - Should have a minimum of three years teaching experience, after acquiring a teaching degree/PGCE/PGDE/QTS, in the UK or overseas in a British curriculum school
- Experience of working with children of different ages in Key Stage 1 or 2
- Excellent communication skills
- A working knowledge of Google Apps and the confidence to work with IT in the classroom
