About the Role

We are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Lead Practitioner for Digital Futures and Innovation to join our talented team and spearhead the development of our new T-Level in Digital and Computing. This is not just a teaching role – it’s a leadership position that will allow you to influence the direction of digital education across the entire academy.

In this role, you will be instrumental in:

  • Leading Digital Strategy: Shape the future of digital education at Global Academy, driving innovation in curriculum design and delivery.
  • Building Industry Partnerships: Work closely with leading companies such as Global, SAP, and Google to co-develop curriculum content, ensuring it meets industry standards and expectations.
  • Inspiring Excellence in Teaching: Mentor and support staff across the academy, sharing best practices in digital pedagogy and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Expanding Digital Literacy: Develop programmes and initiatives that promote digital literacy and skills across the academy, ensuring all students leave with the competencies required to succeed in the digital world.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will be diverse and impactful, allowing you to make a genuine difference across the academy. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Curriculum Development: Lead the design and delivery of the Digital T-Level and Computing curriculum, ensuring it reflects current industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Teaching and Learning: Plan and deliver outstanding lessons that cater to a range of abilities and learning styles, setting a high standard for teaching in digital subjects.
  • Innovation in Pedagogy: Drive innovation in teaching methodologies, exploring new approaches such as blended learning, project-based learning, and flipped classrooms.
  • Data Management: Lead on data analysis and management for the whole academy, using data insights to inform decision-making and improve student outcomes.
  • Community Engagement: Develop and lead community-based digital initiatives, such as coding clubs for local primary schools and inter-school technology competitions.
  • Student Enrichment: Offer a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, including e-sports, coding, and digital media clubs, to enhance the student experience.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone with a strong track record in both education and industry, someone who can bring the best of both worlds to this role. You’ll have:

  • Proven Leadership Experience: A background in leading teams and projects, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • In-Depth Knowledge of Digital and Computing: Expertise in digital technologies and their application in education and industry.
  • A Passion for Innovation: A commitment to staying ahead of the curve and bringing new ideas and approaches to digital teaching and learning.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: The ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and industry partners, ensuring everyone is working towards a shared vision.

Welcome to Global Academy – a unique media school for Year 10 – 13 students in West London that prepares young people for a career in the creative media industry in partnership with Global - one of the world’s leading media and entertainment groups. We also train young adults on our one year Creative Entrepreneurship Professional Diploma programme for 18+ students as a fast track into the creative industry and a unique alternative to Higher Education.

Whether it be on-air, via global player or through their outdoor advertising – Global entertain and reach over 50 million individuals across the UK every week. We also work closely with UAL: London College of Communication. University of the Arts London (UAL) is a world-leading university for art and design (ranked second in the world for Art and Design in the 2021 QS World University Rankings®) and works right alongside the Global Academy team to deliver an amazing educational experience that will set students up for long-term success in the creative industries.

Our vision is to practically educate our young people to be ready for life in the creative media sector, linking all education through our specialism in broadcast and digital media. We aim to create inquisitive, confident and reflective students who can harness their creativity to progress their own well- being and that of others.

Global Academy is committed to the welfare of its staff and offers a strong CPD package which allows all staff to share ideas and best practice. Global Academy is a state-funded school based in Hayes with state of the art facilities including 8 radio studios, 2 TV Studios, a Podcast studio, an Esports Studio and industry standard editing suites - allowing our students to learn the skills needed to make it in the media and broadcast industry.

We work closely with our industry connections to ensure the skills we teach are the ones companies are looking for and our students leave the academy with a network of contacts along with the ability to progress into further education or employment.
