Loreto St Albans is an 11-18 girls’ academy recognised by OFSTED as outstanding in all areas. With the support of our enthusiastic and accomplished staff our students achieve excellent results, and the Progress 8 performance measure has regularly placed Loreto in the top 2% of schools in the country. The school is oversubscribed and has earned an excellent reputation for discipline, pastoral care and academic standards.

The Learning Support Department has a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs within the mainstream environment. The successful candidate will be able to develop close, supportive relationships with the students in their care. The role involves working primarily in lessons supporting students with an EHCP, but may also include working on a 1 to 1 or small group basis.

This post is term time only plus one inset day and the contract length is initially for a fixed term period until 19th July 2025.  The annual salary range (including fringe allowance) for this position (based on a 33.5 hour contract, term time only plus one inset day) is approximately £18,000 to £19,500 per annum (dependent upon experience).

Loreto St Albans is a Roman Catholic academy for girls aged 11-18.  The sixth form is open to both boys and girls.

The school is located in St Albans, Hertfordshire and has around 1,000 pupils.  The school convverted to academy status in 2012. It was founded in 1922 by the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  There are now 119 Loreto schools in 12 countries on 6 continents.
