Lanchester Primary School is a two-form entry primary school situated in the heart of Watford with excellent transport links to London and the M1 and M25 motorways. The school serves a socially, culturally and ethnically diverse community. Families join us from all areas of Watford: the town centre, Nascot Wood, Cassiobury, west and north Watford. The children are well-mannered and behaviour is very good. We have high expectations and want to provide the best education possible to prepare our pupils for their secondary education.

Along with our two sister schools, Ascot Road and Jupiter, we joined Danes Educational Trust in 2021 providing access to a wealth of knowledge and experience across the education sector. The Trust has a record of excellent pupil attainment and exceptional professional development opportunities. Both the Trust and school leadership team are committed to the wellbeing and professional development of the staff team.

Our vision at Lanchester is that every child is valued, celebrated and encouraged to be the best version of themselves that they can be.  Our children realise their full potential through taking pride and having fun in their learning. In so doing, they grow into confident citizens of their world, who can make a positive difference.

We inspire our children to enjoy their childhood, while becoming:

  • Ready: independent, knowledgeable, lifelong learners
  • Respectful: caring, considerate and kind members of society
  • Resilient: thriving, adaptable and aspirational people

Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate that they share our values, are highly motivated to work with colleagues within school to continuously develop their skills, pursue professional excellence, and are able to enable pupils to make excellent progress. If this is you, we would be delighted to receive your application.

Please visit the school website for further information about our provision. If you would like to organise a visit to the school or if you would like to discuss any position in more detail then please contact the Recruitment Team at recruitment@danesedtrust.org.uk.
