An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative, forward thinking Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. We are looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer with a range of engineering skills and knowledge specifically in Manual and CNC Machining to deliver a range of engineering subjects to our apprentices and full time learners in Chesterfield College.

You will have a Machining workshop where you will spend most of your time with Milling Machines, Lathes and Benches for Hand fitting. You will also have access to a range of classrooms to support with delivering a high standard of teaching.

As you gain experience and become more comfortable in the role there may be an opportunity to work across our sites in Chesterfield and Derby.

Applicants should hold at least a Level 3 qualification in engineering (however a HNC/D would be an advantage), have a manufacturing/maintenance background and varied experience in the engineering sector. The successful applicant will be required to deliver both workshop and theory sessions in engineering up to Level 3 for Apprentices.

We work closely with a number of local employers and deliver across multiple areas within the Engineering sector, specialising in Manufacturing, Maintenance, Fabrication & Welding and Design.

Teaching experience/possession of a teaching qualification and assessor award would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided to the correct applicant. It is our vision for this new member of the team to enhance our current delivery and contribute towards developing a curriculum that meets the needs of our local employers.

If you think that you have the qualities, skills and aspirational attitudes to join the Engineering team we look forward to hearing from you.
