We pride ourselves on our individual approach to learning, where students receive outstanding teaching and support, extensive extracurricular opportunities and fantastic facilities.
The Exciting Role
A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to join our team of experienced industry professionals. As Engineering has been identified as a key strategic priority for the College Group, we are committed to supporting growth and investment in this area.
Key to this is looking to strengthen our existing team and ensure we have the capacity for growth.
On this basis, we are keen to hear from applicants who have experience in any of the below specialisms:
- Experience with T-Level delivery
- Hand Fitting
- Machining (Milling & Turning)
- CNC Machining (Milling & Turning)
Whether you are an experienced practitioner looking for your next challenge or a newly qualified teacher looking to make your mark within an Outstanding organisation, this could be the opportunity for you.
The role will be primarily based at our Nelson and Colne College site but there may be a requirement to travel across sites.
Please note: The market premium payment is specifically linked to the appointment of a candidate who can lead the design and a coordination of a high-quality T-Level programme in Engineering. As such, a candidate applying on this basis should have the ability and experience to work with partners and employers on the creation and co-delivery of the Engineering curriculum.
However, applications from candidates without this experience are welcomed in consideration for a standard Mechanical Engineering Lecturer position.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Teaching on a range of programmes, delivering effective learning for students in the Engineering department
- Planning and preparing high quality teaching and learning
- Developing and sharing resources for the course/subject
- Completing required assessments in relation to student assignments
What We Are Looking For:
- An enthusiastic team player
- Recognised teaching qualification or a willingness to undertake this
- Strong industry experience would be an advantage and could be considered in place of a degree level qualification for the right candidate.
- Successful teaching experience (ideally on Pearson BTEC) with a background in delivery of Level 3 RQF subjects would be advantageous.
- Degree level qualification or appropriate professional qualification (or equivalent level of experience)
*Please note we only accept applications submitted via our website*
