The school librarian will lead on the strategic evolution of the library ensuring it is at the heart of literacy education at The Lisboan. The librarian plays a crucial role in fostering a love of reading, supporting academic research, and promoting information literacy across all age groups in the school. This position involves managing the library, collaborating with teachers to integrate library resources into the curriculum and creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements, Talents and Competencies
- Experience working as a librarian ideally in an educational setting.
- Bachelor’s degree ideally in Library Science or a related field
- Knowledge of age-appropriate literature and educational resources
- Knowledge, experience, and the ability to apply research-based practices in a through school (age 3-18) environment preferred
- Clear communicator who can work alongside stakeholders in many different contexts
- Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents and colleagues.
- Ability to project calm self-assurance, positive energy and kindness
- Experience in developing personal growth in others

Opening in September 2025 for students in Early Years - Year 10, the school will eventually house 1,200 students from Early Years to Year 13.
