Aldar Education are currently seeking a Lifeguard for Mamoura British Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing immediately.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

As a member of the Operations team, directly supporting the Physical Education department, the role will be fully responsible to effectively lead all safety operations poolside. Working with the Operations team, the role will ensure the school complies with all Aldar Education Policy, procedures, HSE, Audit and Regulatory directives within daily school operations.

·        Maintain full supervision of the swimming pool and its users from the designated positions in the PSOP.

 ·        Ensuring pools checks are completed and recorded before and after the lessons where applicable and liaising with maintenance teams where corrective action needs to be made. 

·        Managing and ensuring the safety of swimmers, parents, pupils, teachers, staff and any other people on site. 

·        To support teachers and coaches with administrative tasks and offering excellent customer service support at all times. 

·        To read, understand and work within the Normal Operating Procedure and Emergency Action Plan (Pool Safety Operating Procedure) that is supplied by the school.

·        To work within the Health & Safety, Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and Risk Assessment guidelines that is supplied by the school. 

·        To carry out safety/operational equipment and resource checks where requested and report findings in appropriate documentation. All documentation is to be supplied by the school. 

·        To manoeuvre, set-up and dismantle equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with an induction that is performed either by the school. 

·        To help maintain a safe and secure environment through observation and provision of guidance and emergency assistance when required. 

·        To reporting any concerns about any areas of operation to the relevant line manager. 

·        Attending mandatory monthly training sessions to maintain knowledge, fitness and skills required to carry out your duties.  

·        To carry out pool tests as per the PSOP, in accordance with their training and induction. 

·        To represent Aldar Education in a professional and positive manner at all times, adhering to the company values.

·        To support the PE department with day to day tasks and whole school events when not required at poolside.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications

·  Trained and qualified DAC or equivalent lifeguard (EIAC ADQCC)

Minimum Experience 

·  At least 1 year of experience

·  Efficient and proficient swimmer

·  Good verbal and written communication skills in English

·  Physically fit to be able to work outdoors

·  Effective communicator at different levels, both orally and in writing

About Mamoura British Academy

Al Mamoura Academy is a partly co-educational international school located in Abu Dhabi, first accepting an intake of students in 2016. The school has primary and secondary areas, with the school’s primary division being co-educational and secondary being girls-only. As a newly built school, Al Mamoura Academy is able to boast of a huge range of modern teaching and recreational facilities, such as an auditorium, a swimming pool, numerous sports courts and halls, as well as a fully equipped library and extensive IT facilities. The curriculum at Al Mamoura Academy is primarily based on the English curriculum in primary phases, whilst secondary phases offer a wider range of international qualifications including GCSEs and A-level studies as well as a US Curriculum pathway.
