Description
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme College
We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Management Accountant to provide a broad range of financial support services liaising closely with managers throughout the college.
The main emphasis will be in the development and review of good management accounting practice, and duties will include compiling monthly management accounts to be presented to the Group Accountant, Vice Principal and the Senior Management Team as and when required.
To work with Faculty and support department managers to profile and re-profile budgets in the light planned and actual expenditure patterns. In addition, you will be involved in the production of the College’s annual budget setting cycle and will investigate and highlight any areas of concerns regarding budgetary expenditure.
To be successful, you will hold an appropriate accounting qualification, CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA or equivalent, have experience in a similar level role, have a detailed understanding of statutory responsibilities and accounting standards as well as excellent communication skills.
The ideal candidate will also be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and have a positive outlook.

Newcastle-Under-Lyme College is a mixed, non-denominational further education college in Staffordshire, serving students from the age of 16 and above. The further education college, situated in Newcastle under Lyme has approximately 3,800 full time learners on site every year, along with 2,600 part time or adult learners.
Newcastle-Under-Lyme College opened in 1986 and in 2010, moved to a £60 million campus. In 2015, a £5.5 million performing arts centre opened, while an outdoor learning centre built the following year. The college works closely with LEGO Education to help support learners and teachers and has invested £60,000 in a LEGO Education Innovation Studio. Other facilities include The Gordon Banks Sports Centre, which features a 24 station gym, a media theatre, fashion studio and a hair and beauty training salon.
