Holy Cross College is seeking to appoint a permanent Curriculum Leader of Maths to commence from May 2025, or earlier if possible.
You will join us on a permanent basis with a salary on the Leadership spine at points 1 - 2: £55,094 to £56,509 per annum (subject to progression to scale 9 of the Teaching Staff Salary Scale) plus excellent benefits!
The Mathematics Cluster currently comprises eight teaching staff plus a 0.8 Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) providing teaching and support across the subject area.
The subject area currently teaches the Edexcel GCE A level specifications for Maths and Further Maths, as well as for GCSE Maths, with over 600 students in total studying within the subject area. 2023-24 saw the introduction of Core Maths, which has been marketed to students who are not studying A Level Maths but have significant maths content in their study programmes. The department has six fully equipped classrooms including interactive whiteboard facilities. Students also have the opportunity to engage with a range of enrichment and extension activities within the area, including mentoring pupils a local high school.
The department is an experienced team and has been proactive in looking at the latest developments within the teaching of the subject, in liaison with other colleges and outside agencies. The department prides itself on the quality of its resources and the support it gives to students. This is reflected in excellent feedback from students in surveys and focus groups.
