Role Overview:

As Math Curriculum Leader, you will shape the future of mathematics education at Citizens School by leading curriculum development, implementing innovative teaching strategies, and ensuring that learners of all abilities are empowered to succeed. You will work closely with a talented team of mentors, fostering collaboration and driving excellence in teaching and learning.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Design and oversee schemes of work that align with statutory requirements and reflect the school’s vision and ethos. Ensure the curriculum is differentiated, aligned across phases, and meets the diverse needs of learners.
  • Assessment: Develop and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor learner progress and provide actionable feedback. Ensure high standards of assessment quality and timely submissions.
  • Department Planning: Create and execute a development plan for the department, setting clear goals and ensuring alignment with accreditation standards. Prepare the department for internal and external inspections.
  • Staff Leadership: Inspire and motivate mentors, fostering a culture of collaboration and shared purpose. Support professional growth through appraisals, coaching, and development opportunities.
  • Behavior Management: Provide guidance on classroom management strategies and address recurring behavior issues in a constructive and supportive manner.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Valid teaching credential with a minimum of five years of teaching experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in curriculum development and co-curricular programs.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in IT for productivity and as a learning facilitation tool.
