We are looking for a Middle School Computing Teacher - (AI Focus with Robotics Knowledge) to join our team.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and Deliver Curriculum: Create and implement engaging lesson plans focused on AI, with some integration of robotics concepts, tailored for middle school students.
- Engage Students: Conduct interactive workshops and hands-on sessions to help students understand basic and intermediate AI concepts, with some exposure to robotics.
- Evaluate Performance: Assess student progress through projects, quizzes, and exams, providing constructive feedback to support their learning journey.
- Stay Updated: Continuously learn about the latest trends and technologies in AI and robotics to keep the curriculum current.
- Collaborate: Work with colleagues to integrate AI and robotics into the broader school curriculum.
- Mentorship: Support students with their projects and assignments, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment.
- Implement School Policies: Adhere to and enforce school policies and practices, ensuring a consistent and fair approach.
- Safeguarding: Maintain a safe and secure learning environment, prioritizing the well-being and protection of all students.
- High-Quality Teaching: Deliver high-quality teaching that inspires and motivates students, promoting a love for learning.
- Positive Learning Environment: Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Teaching certification or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Basic to intermediate proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java) with a focus on AI, and familiarity with robotics platforms (e.g., LEGO Mindstorms, VEX Robotics).
- Experience: Some teaching or tutoring experience, with a good understanding of educational pedagogy and curriculum development.
- Soft Skills: Possess strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, along with effective classroom management abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and reflective in challenging environments.
- This role is ideal for someone at the beginning of their teaching career or with a few years of experience, looking to inspire and educate middle school students in the exciting fields of AI and robotics.
