Key Responsibilities:

Program Leadership:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the MYP in alignment with the IBO mission & standards as well as the school's mission, vision, and educational goals.
  • Act as the point of contact for IB-related matters, fostering strong relationships with IB stakeholders.

Curriculum Development and Integration:

  •  Collaborate with teachers and department heads to ensure the MYP framework is integrated seamlessly into the school's curriculum.
  • Promote interdisciplinary teaching and learning by facilitating collaborative planning and assessment.
  • Support the development of unit plans, curriculum guides, and instructional materials in line with IB standards.

Teacher Professional Development:

  • Organize and facilitate professional development opportunities for teachers, ensuring they are well-versed in MYP principles, teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to educators to enhance their understanding of the MYP framework.
  • Lead by example through model teaching (8 periods weekly)

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of effective assessment and evaluation strategies in line with MYP assessment criteria.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and facilitate the process of internal and external assessment.

Parent and Community Engagement:

  • Foster open and constructive communication with parents and the wider school community regarding the MYP program.
  • Organize information sessions and workshops to ensure parents have a clear understanding of the MYP.

International-Mindedness:

  • Promote the values of international-mindedness, global awareness, and a diverse, inclusive school culture among students, staff, and parents.

Budget Management:

  • Manage the MYP budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field depending on the specializations.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching and educational leadership.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • IB educator certification or MYP-related training and professional development.
  • Strong understanding of the IB MYP framework, curriculum, and assessment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and parents.
  • Proficiency in educational technology and relevant software tools.

The Island Private School is a polysystemic educational hub that offers 3 programmes (International Baccalaureate, Waldorf & Montessori) under one roof. We follow a holistic approach, offering a full-day learning environment (08:00-18:00) for international students of diverse cultural backgrounds.

Our Campus

Currently we are operating in a temporary campus, opened in September 2022 which includes 3 areas: Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary School as well as outdoor sport courts, playgrounds, canteen, 2 art studios, 2 music rooms and 2 libraries.

Future Campus

Drawing inspiration from renowned educational projects worldwide and working in collaboration with one of the leading architectural bureaus, we are about to shape the future of our school. Among other features, the permanent campus will include 5 laboratories, 2 art studios, swimming pool, sports base for both indoor and outdoor activities and much more.

By 2026, we aim to bring our vision to life and establish a vibrant educational environment for global citizens. This inclusive space will cater to the needs of our students, parents, teachers and international specialists, fostering mutual support and collaboration.
