We are currently looking for a 1: 1 Teaching Assistant to join our team in Prebendal School, Chichester.

Contract Type: Full Time, Term Time Only
Salary: £11.44 per hour
Start Date: Immediate start available
About the Position
- To work on 1 to 1 basis with a pupil with special needs or work independently.
- To create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating. environment which is conducive to children’s learning.
- To aid the pupil to learn as effectively as possible both in group situations and on his/her own by, for example: clarifying and explaining instructions.
- Ensuring the pupil is able to use equipment and materials provided.
- Motivating and encouraging the pupil(s) as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to pupils’ needs.
- Assisting in weaker areas, e.g. speech and language, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation etc.
- Using praise, commentary and assistance to encourage the pupil to concentrate and stay on task.
About You
- You will have experience in assisting in promoting the learning and personal development of the pupil to whom you are assigned.
- You will help enable them to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them.
- To promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy of education.
- You will promote safety and welfare of the pupils supported, during on-site and off-site activities.

- You will have strong organisational skills and strong sense of awareness and willingness to learn
- Is well presented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
