Job overview

This is an opportunity for a suitably skilled and personable candidate to join and lead our office admin team, working closely to support our students to attain their best possible qualifications, future progression routes and enjoy their time at Bournemouth School for Girls. This role is at the heart of the school, is varied, rewarding and stimulating and manages a number of key functions.

 You will need previous experience in a similar role, preferably in education, excellent admin and organisational skills, strong inter-personal skills and experience of line management. You may be able to offer qualifications in the areas of work.

Bournemouth School for Girls is a girls’ 11-18 selective academy which has the core aim of developing well rounded young people who, as well as achieving outstanding academic results, are ready to make a difference in the world. BSG was inspected in May 2024 and achieved an outstanding grading in all areas. The report commended the school for its high-quality education, exemplary behaviour and inclusive environment. Achievement is consistently high and BSG has maintained its position as one of the top state girls’ schools in the country for both progress and attainment. A key aim is to be a great school to work and learn at.

Bournemouth School for Girls is a selective secondary grammar school located in Bournemouth, Dorset.  With around 1100 pupils on roll, including 300 in the Sixth Form, Bournemouth School for Girls is larger than the average secondary grammar. The school converted to academy status in 2011, and is now part of the South West Academic Trust. The trust includes a large number of grammar schools across the region, and is directly affiliated with Exeter University. The school can boast of a wide range of facilities, including large playing fields shared with a local boys’ school.

As a selective institution, the school sets a high academic standard for entry. Potential applicants are expected to pass a number of tests - Mathematics, English and Verbal Reasoning.  Entrance to the Sixth Form is open to external applications, pending GCSE results. The school itself offers a high-quality academic curriculum for its students, supported both by strong facilities and proper careers guidance.
