2 days (14 hours) per week, term time only (39 weeks)

Oaklands School requires a Part-Time Learning Mentor from January 2025 to work with the Sixth Form team, tutors and teachers. The successful candidate will provide academic support to students in the sixth form, as well as support the school in managing, maintaining and promoting the library and our brand new Learning Centre. You must be able to relate to young people, and have the ability to liaise with teachers and other professionals. You will need the ability to motivate and enthuse others, the ability to think strategically, creatively and be committed to lifelong learning. Excellent literacy and communication skills are essential.

Oaklands is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in East London. It is a community state school as well as a NSS (National Support School] that provides support to other schools. A smaller than average secondary school, it will provide 850 places for secondary and sixth form students between the ages of 11-18, when fully subscribed.
With over 20 years’ worth of educational success, Oaklands has been a specialist school for science since 2003 and became a specialist modern foreign language school in 2008.
