Job overview

We are seeking to appoint a committed and talented Pastoral Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work at our unique and inspirational school where our children, parents and staff are at the heart of everything we do.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated HLTA who has experience of working with children across the primary age range. As a Pastoral HLTA, you will be supporting children with a range of barriers to achieve their full potential through assisting the teacher within the classroom and also teaching lessons when covering teachers.

To be successful, you will:

  • Be prepared to complete or have an HLTA qualification
  • Have experience of young people in an educational setting
  • Have experience of SEMH/behavioural challenges
  • Be able to confidently communicate with parents, carers and other agencies attached to the young people
  • Have a deeply held conviction that every child can achieve and reach their potential
  • Be able to be adaptable and confident working in a dynamic, changing environment
  • Be a strong team player

The role is for 37 hours a week, term time only; therefore, this is reflected in the pro-rata salary.

About us

Our academy is larger than the average primary academy. We opened in 2013 and boast a fantastic new building and a vibrant atmosphere. • Happy, confident children who enjoy being at school
  • A vibrant, warm, friendly working environment
  • A commitment to professional development through the Greenwood Academies Learning Alliance

In return

Being part of the GAT, you can be assured that you will be joining a successful Multi-Academy Trust that has a great track record in helping children to succeed, no matter what their background. The Trust is dedicated to valuing and developing the workforce, whether that be through ensuring a fair workload or offering access to bespoke CPD from the Learning Alliance to enhance professional growth.
