Our students require specialist support from the English Teacher to help them feel supported enough to engage in learning and it is this caring, nurturing, trauma informed environment that we provide.

While we recognise the importance of, and our students work towards, formal qualifications such as AQA unit awards, Functional Skills and GCSEs, we also ensure our students leave us with a wide range of life skills and qualities by taking part in activities such as outdoor learning, swimming, horse riding, rock climbing, E-Sports, boxing and many, many more.

At Halton School

Welcome to Halton independent school. We welcome pupils between KS2 to KS5 who have either been unable to maintain a place in a mainstream school or who are thought to be able to benefit from a stable period in a small supportive school environment. Based in Runcorn and part of The Keys Group, the school provides day placements for children and young people. We are registered with the DfE.

We aim to offer all pupils a rounded curriculum in which, irrespective of academic ability, they can achieve high levels of success. In response to this we offer a variety of wider curriculum activities, including weekly sessions of indoor wall climbing and high ropes and therapeutic horse riding. We have also built links with the Police, TRFC and Warrington Futsal.

Please note we reserve the right to close the vacancy early should we receive a significant number of suitable applications.

Keys Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of everyone in our care. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, suitable employment references and online searches to safeguard our young people. In addition, this post is exempt from the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974.
