We are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Pastoral Leader join our academy, to support pupils and to ensure that every child succeeds.  

E-ACT The Parker Academy in Daventry is seeking a full time Pastoral Lead on a full time permanent contract and to commence employment as soon as possible. The main focus of the role is to remove barriers to learning and achievement, and to ensure that all students achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will build effective relationships with students, staff and parents, have high levels of organisation and time management, alongside emotional intelligence and empathy for student welfare and achievement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage student behaviour day to day, acting as a role model for students and staff by demonstrating high quality pastoral care and support, rigorous expectations and a visible, professional presence with students.
  • To lead on coordinating appropriate interventions for students in your year group whose attendance, behaviour or achievement is a concern.
  • To work closely and collaboratively with all academy senior and middle leaders with regard to implementing academy behaviour systems
  • To assist with monitoring student attendance and punctuality on a weekly basis and to take all the appropriate steps to ensure that attendance and punctuality of students are at the highest levels


Pay Range:

Scale Point Range 14-20 (Actual Salary £25,175.48 - £27,780.63, Full Time Equivalent £28,624 - £31,586)


Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 5 GCSE, including Maths & English (Grades 4-9)
  • Experience of working with children who have a wide variety of educational needs
  • Demonstrable understanding of young peoples' social, emotional and educational development needs
  • Commitment to the academy’s values and ethos.

The Parker E-ACT Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form, situated in Daventry, Northamptonshire. There are approximately 1200 pupils at the school, between the ages of 11-19.

Formerly William Parker School, The Parker E-ACT Academy converted to academy status in 2012.

The Parker E-ACT Academy wants to provide a supportive environment for pupils to learn in and achieve their full potential, both in and out of the classroom. The academy is committed to being a fully inclusive institution for children from all walks of life, regardless of their background or ability. There are four core principles at The Parker E-ACT Academy: raising educational standards, tailoring learning to the needs of the individual, creating an inclusive culture and working in partnership with the local community. The Parker E-ACT Academy offers a range of extra-curricular activities for pupils to get involved in and learn new skills, including The Duke of Edinburgh Award.
