Role Overview:
At Arco Academy we believe in the power of photography to inspire self-expression and develop critical artistic skills. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated graduate to lead and facilitate our photography course, engaging students in exploring the art and technical aspects of photography.
Key Responsibilities:
Course Delivery:
- Deliver engaging lessons to students of varying skill levels, adapting teaching methods to suit individual needs.
Student Engagement:
- Inspire students to explore photography creatively while encouraging critical thinking and experimentation.
- Provide constructive feedback to support students' progress in their projects and coursework.
Technical Expertise:
- Teach students to use cameras, lighting equipment, and editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom).
- Oversee the safe use and maintenance of photography equipment.
Project Coordination:
- Guide students in developing personal photography projects, portfolios, or exhibitions.
- Organize and showcase student work in school events, exhibitions, or competitions.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain records of student attendance, progress, and assessments.
- Liaise with teachers and parents to discuss student performance when necessary.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on trends in photography and education to enhance course content and teaching strategies.
- Participate in school training sessions and staff meetings.
Skills & Expertise
Photography Expertise:
- Proficient in both digital and analog photography techniques, including camera operation, lighting, and post-production.
- Knowledge of photography editing software such as Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, or equivalent tools.
Communication and Presentation:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly and engagingly to secondary school students.
- Confidence in presenting to groups and leading interactive sessions.
Creativity and Innovation:
- Ability to inspire students through creative approaches to teaching photography.
- A passion for exploring new ideas and techniques within photography to keep the course content fresh and engaging.
Organizational Skills:
- Ability to plan and deliver a structured curriculum that aligns with school objectives and timelines.
- Competence in managing multiple student projects, tracking progress, and maintaining accurate records.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Friendly and approachable demeanor to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- Ability to motivate and support students of varying skill levels and abilities.
Problem-Solving Skills:
- Resourceful in addressing challenges, such as managing limited resources or assisting students with technical difficulties.
