Job overview

Do you have experience of working within a Positive Behaviour Support approach for young people/adults with complex needs?

Do you enjoy working holistically with wider therapeutic professionals and education staff to ensure students are ready to learn?

Priory School is a Secondary Special Needs school in Crystal Palace and we have an exciting opportunity for a specialist practitoner to join our team to continue the development of our approach to behaviour and attitudes which was recognised as outstanding by Ofsted in July 2024.

As the Positive Behaviour Support Specialist Practitioner at Priory School you will undertake Functional Behaviour Assessments, creating and implementing robust, individualised Positive Behaviour Support Plans. You will be part of the school’s pastoral team which includes family liaison and support, safeguarding, complementary therapies as well as having cross over with the in house therapy team of Speech and Language and Occupational Therapy.

You will have students referred to your case load and work with the class team, supported by classes’ allocated Behaviour and Pastoral Support Officer to train staff in implementing the Behaviour Support Plan. The role involves some wider strategic input of behaviour across the school, working alongside the Head of Pastoral Care to create reports on the analysis of whole school behaviour, as well as involvement in the design of policy and training packages, including outreach.

The candidate must have experience and/or qualification of working within a PBS approach particularly in an SEN education or residential provision and will be supported through professional development opportunities to work independently as well as part of an experienced team.

Priory School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and anyone applying to work at the school is expected to share this commitment.  This position is subject to a satisfactory fully enhanced DBS check and references being received.

Part-time considered.

Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged.

Please email your completed application, including a personal statement, to recruitment@priorycroydon.org.uk

Closing Date Wednesday 8th January 2025.

Interviews to be arranged within a week of closing date.

Please be aware that the listing will be closed as soon as sufficient applicants have been received.
