Primary Specialist Teacher – ICT- Cayman Brac

Salary:CI$57,192-CI$74,772 per annum

The Primary Specialist Teacher (ICT) will be responsible for teaching computing lessons and coaching other teachers to improve their computing teaching skills, as well as the general integration of technology. This highly motivated and experienced specialist computing teacher will have a passion for technology and the ability to inspire and motivate young learners. Primary Specialist Teachers (PSTs) must develop schemes of work and lesson plans for computing and facilitate learning by establishing an effective relationship with all students and by their organization of various learning resources.

*Required qualifications, experience & special skills include the following:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (Computing/Computer Science preferred) from an accredited university required.
  • Master’s in Computing/Education preferred. 
  • Professional teaching qualification from a recognized institution/authority required.
  • At least five (5) years of teaching experience, preferably in more than one school.
  • At least two (2) years of experience of teaching, leading and supporting the delivery of high-quality computing instruction in a primary setting. 
  • A track record of successful impact as a leader of computing. 
  • Evidence of involvement in transformational change within computing. 
  • Experience of working in primary intervention work. 
  • Ability to contribute to other related programmes (such as robotics etc.) will be an asset.

The remuneration package for the successful candidate is offered without deductions. The Cayman Islands Government provides an additional 12% pension contribution and 100% health insurance coverage for the employee and their dependents.
