Come and join our fantastic growing pastoral teams at JLC as a Progress Tutor.

Your role as a Progress Tutor will be to work with learners to help them achieve their full potential in a safe and supportive environment. Each individual learner journey is important to us; the role of the Progress Tutor is to support and encourage students to progress both academically and with their chosen career aim. Progress Tutors are responsible for managing a caseload of students supporting them to engage fully with their college programme, delivering a series of tutorials such as keeping safe and skills and ensuring that each individual learner progresses onto a positive destination after leaving JLC. The college’s learners are fantastic and JLC are looking for staff who can harness their talent, inspiring them to progress and contribute to a positive culture.

John Leggott College is a mixed, selective, non-denominational, general further education college situated in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. It is a 16-plus institution based on a single modern campus close to the town centre, with good access to surrounding rural areas. There are around 1,700 learners at the college, between the ages of 16-19, studying a range of academic and vocational courses.

The college was founded in 1958 as John Leggott Grammar School. The sixth form was established in 1968 in the midst of a Scunthorpe education reorganisation.
