Job title:      PSHE Teacher

Hours:       37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Salary:       Up to £38,000.00 per annum (dependant on experience)

Contract:       Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an amazing PSHE Teacher to join our lovely team at Longdon Hall School.

Longdon Hall School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 7 to 18, catering for pupils with a wide range of social, emotional, and mental health needs. Our dedicated team work together to ensure successful outcomes for pupils who often arrive at the school with a troubled view of education and life.

This opportunity is in Lichfield which is within commutable distance of Cannock, Burton upon Trent and surrounding areas.

About the role

To be accountable for student progress and development within the curriculum area and maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the professional duties of teachers. The postholder will be aware of the statutory framework within which they work and contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the policies and practice of the school.

To provide a first-class education to each student that attends the school, though their own professional development and be a role model of professionalism and good practice.

To work with senior leaders to identify, plan, deliver and evaluate targeted interventions with identified individuals.

General Responsibilities: 

  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils and young people; 
  • Work in accordance with professional practice, statutory and legal requirements and the policies of Longdon Hall School
  • Take responsibility for specific areas of work which will be reviewed annually then negotiated and agreed within the performance management cycle and school improvement process; 
  • Set appropriate and achievable expectations and targets for pupils
  • Ensure that parent/carers are well informed about the curriculum, targets, pupils’ progress and attainment. 

Qualifications

  • Grade C or above in Maths and English and subject specific qualification,
