We’re looking for a Reading Intervention Progress Assistant to join our team!


As a Reading Intervention Progress Assistant you will work under the guidance of the Academy Literacy Leader to implement agreed reading programmes/intervention strategies with individuals or groups of students. This may include working one to one or with small groups.

This post is 32 hours, 5 minutes per week (Monday-Friday), term time only, +5 days. 8:20am-3:15pm. The role is fixed term until July 2025 in the first instance.

Co-op Academy Priesthorpe is situated in Pudsey and just 15 minutes from both Leeds and Bradford centre with places for 1250 students and 135 staff. The Academy has a very special ethos, which visitors continue to comment on. Equity and equality are key drivers for us in ensuring that all students have the opportunity to excel within a highly inclusive and supportive community.

All colleagues, teachers and support, are responsible for a small coaching group of students which they meet with for 1.5 hours over a week. Full training is offered and you will be buddied up with a teaching member of staff. This adds a very rewarding element to this role.

Co-op Academy Priesthorpe is a 'Good' school in Leeds (Ofsted, 2024) with Outstanding features. It is an 11-18 Academy with a Sixth Form and an intake of over 1000 students and around 135 staff. Originally a co-operative foundation school and part of the Leeds Co-operative School’s Network, they joined the Co-operative Academies Trust in July 2017.
