Learner Pathways Officer – School Liaison and Recruitment

Part Time 22 hours – Term time + 1 week

Come and join John Leggott College as a School Liaison & Recruitment officer and be a part of our dynamic Learner Pathway team. The main role is to promote JLC by coordinating, organising and hosting engaging events both on site and at schools across the county. You will be a key contact who will proactively continue to develop the strong relationships we have with schools and the community whilst looking at new innovative ways in which to introduce the college.

 

Being able to balance a variety of engagements within in a working week, have good organisation and time keeping skills are a key part of this role.

With the role taking you to many different places, you will need to be able to travel across the county and have flexibility as some of the events may take place during an evening and occasionally a Saturday, but advance notice would be given.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate good communication skills that allow effective communication with all levels
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Confident and an inspiring presenter for groups or a 1 to 1 setting
  • Balancing of engagements within the working week
  • Flexibility to work across the region sometimes during the evening and occasionally (advance notice will be given)

 

YOU WILL HAVE:

  • Experience with working with young people
  • The ability to work on own initiative and part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Excellent timekeeping
  • Attainment GCSE’s or equivalent, to include English and Maths at grade A-C

John Leggott College is a mixed, selective, non-denominational, general further education college situated in Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. It is a 16-plus institution based on a single modern campus close to the town centre, with good access to surrounding rural areas. There are around 1,700 learners at the college, between the ages of 16-19, studying a range of academic and vocational courses.

The college was founded in 1958 as John Leggott Grammar School. The sixth form was established in 1968 in the midst of a Scunthorpe education reorganisation.
