About the Job

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, passionate and fully qualified Science teacher to join our Secondary Cambridge Department, preferably for the remainder of the 2024/25 school year and the 2025/26 school year. The course follows the Cambridge Pathway, as such, successful applicants should have relevant experience teaching Cambridge Checkpoint Primary or Lower Secondary. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for teaching, are suitably qualified, and committed to creating an inclusive, engaging and positive learning environment.

This position will entail teaching from Cambridge Stage 6 - 8 Science.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Planning, Preparing & Teaching lessons according to the Cambridge International Curriculum Framework & learning outcomes.
  • Creating and implementing subject specific Scheme of Work.
  • Differentiating class activities, tasks and lesson materials to meet the varied needs of learners.
  • Applying various teaching techniques (including interactive methods and game-based activities) to encourage participation and facilitate learning
  • Developing a positive, inclusive and active classroom atmosphere with fair & clear standards and expectations.
  • Devising and conducting regular formative and summative assessment in line with the school calendar.
  • Providing clear and consistent student feedback.
  • Working to build a collaborative and communicative relationship with coworkers, homeroom teachers and parents to ensure all students are adequately supported.
  • Conferring with teachers, parents or guardians to discuss student progress and to address behavioural or academic issues.
  • Attending meetings and school events.
  • Providing support for extracurricular activities and school festivals when/if required.
  • Fulfilling general professional & administrative duties.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Native-Level English speaker
  • Subject specific bachelor's degree AND a professional teaching qualification (Teaching License/PGCE with QTS, OR a Bachelors of Education in a relevant subject.
  • 2 years professional teaching experience.
  • Knowledge and experience teaching foreign language learners.
