Job overview

Uppingham Community College is seeking to recruit a full or part-time Science Technician to support the senior technician and Heads of Department in delivering practical lessons to support the curriculum.


Up to 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (working hours to be discussed at interview


Technician experience or a scientific background would be advantageous, however training will be given.


As a Science Technician, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective provision of practical support to the Science department at UCC, following health and safety regulations and guidelines. 


This will include:

  • Assisting teaching staff with technical support needs
  • Preparing, assembling, testing and clearing away equipment for practical lessons.
  • Undertaking general maintenance, including cleaning apparatus and equipment and carrying out simple repairs
  • Assisting with demonstrations

You will be happy to work alone or as part of a team and demonstrate the enthusiasm and energy needed to support our students.
