As we are expanding our school, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a new SEN Teacher to join our team and to support and develop the school in line with its shared values and improvement priorities. Doubletrees School provides a creative and ambitious centre of learning for 105 pupils with a range of complex learning, medical and communication needs aged from 2-19 years.
The school is a member of the Special Partnership Trust, an ambitious and inspiring collaboration of specialist provision in Cornwall, with a focus on excellence in learning for everyone.
We are looking for a skilled teacher; ideally experienced in SEN however we will also consider applications from teachers earlier in their career. The role requires a love of teaching and a passion to learn; you will also require drive, enthusiasm, and resilience to join our successful and supportive teaching team.

The successful applicant will be responsible for planning and delivering excellent personalised learning opportunities, to pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, all of whom will have Education Health and Care Plans.
Primary experience is advantageous; applicants transitioning from mainstream are most welcome however experience within Early Years and Key Stage 1, and knowledge of early reading, writing, phonics and number development is key, as these skills are required when teaching in any of our classes.
Candidates will be required to demonstrate experience of SEN teaching and working with pupils with ASD, SLD, SEMH and/ or communication needs and evidence the ability to work effectively within a multi-agency team to improve outcomes for pupils or have a strong passion and desire to learn in this area.
The role is for a SEN teacher, who may be asked to teach within any of our age ranges, however in the first instance, we are preferably looking for teachers with the following experience:
- A knowledge of EYFS/KS1 curriculum area
- A knowledge delivering sensory based curriculum
