An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Examination Invigilator to lead our team of invigilators in conducting our internal and external examinations; ensuring that all regulatory requirements/school policy and procedures are strictly adhered to and met at all times

The Senior Exams Invigilator will support our exams team in providing a smooth process during our exam periods. The role has a varied range of responsibilities to include: 

 

·        Overseeing invigilators giving direction and support where needed 

·        Creating Invigilator timetables and allocating sessions 

·        Support the Exams Officer (EO) and Deputy EO, by directing Invigilators, setting up rooms and checking in papers 

·        Being aware of actions to be taken in an event of an emergency 

·        Supporting in the recruitment of new invigilators 

·        Organising and delivering training to new invigilators 


We are looking for someone who: 

 

·        Through their experience, has a clear understanding of the complexities of exam regulations  

·        Can clearly and effectively, disseminate exam related information to the invigilation team and other staff  

·        Can effectively use Microsoft packages to include word, excel (to create timetables) and emails (to provide information to the team) 

·        Has good interpersonal skills in order to manage and de-escalate any difficult or unforeseen circumstances

Upper Shirley High School is a mixed, mainstream secondary academy in Southampton, Hampshire. The school caters for students aged 11 to 16.

Upper Shirley High School is part of the Jefferys Education Partnership, a multi-academy trust. Formerly Bellemoor School, the school changed its name in September 2008 and became an academy in 2012.
